This course is designed to prepare both HP Networking and Cisco network engineers for the design, integration, configuration, management, and interoperability of an interconnected HP and Cisco network. In particular, emphasis throughout the course is on the understanding and implementation of both industry-standard and Cisco-proprietary protocols.
To better demonstrate and clarify these and other concepts, focus is on the current HP “ProCurve” product line, including the HP8200 zl, HP5400 zl, and HP3500 yl L3/L4 switches and the HP2900, HP2800, HP2600 access layer switches. Given the strong similarities between the CLI of Cisco’s IOS OS and HP’s “A-series” switches (acquired 3Com/H3C products), the demonstrated Cisco configuration can be readily applied to these HP products as well.
